Our Story
Ana and Kevin Pérez started d.a.c. more than 20 years ago. When a storm hit their own home in 1993, their family felt lost and ignored by the systems that were supposed to provide support. Cultural and language barriers only increased their struggle to find help.
For support, they reached out to others dealing with the same challenges, and soon a group was formed. This group became a place for people to laugh, cry and learn in their own language with people of their own culture.
As elders, advocates, educators and friends, the Pérez now serve other families affected by disabilities, helping them over the hurdles of the healthcare, public services, schools and community systems. By being a constant source of support, d.a.c. has become a home away from home for the diverse community it serves.
